  • Sun 27th April – northbound open from 12pm to 8pm

Diversions

Southbound: New Illawarra Rd, Bangor Bypass, River Rd, Linden St, and The Grand Pde to Princes Hwy.

Northbound: Princes Hwy, The Grand Pde, Linden St, River Rd, and Bangor Bypass to New Illawarra Rd.

As part of Anzac Day Commemorations in the Sutherland Shire, the Engadine RSL sub-branch March will be held from 2pm until 3.10pm on Sunday 13 April.

The Event consists of a March, which forms up in John Keenan Park and proceeds along Old Princes Highway and then to the War Memorial in Engadine Town Square for a service at 2.30pm.

Traffic control will be undertaken by NSW Police. Traffic control for the March requires the temporary closure of Old Princes Highway between Waratah Road and Boronia Avenue, until the March enters the Engadine Town Square.

Motorists should be aware of increased pedestrian activity in the vicinity of John Keenan Park and drive with due care.

The St Stylianos Greek Orthodox Church (Gymea) Good Friday Procession will take place on the evening of Friday 18 April between 9pm and 10.30pm.

The procession proceeds from the church, down Hotham Road, then Clements Parade, then Bath Road, then Durbar Avenue and then Hotham Road back to the church. The procession walks on the roads led by a priest.

In order to ensure a safe event, road closures will be in place on:

  • Hotham Road, between Kingsway and Clements Parade,
  • Jowyn Place,
  • Clements Parade, between Hotham Road and Bath Road
  • Bath Road, between Clements Parade and Durbar Avenue, and
  • Durbar Avenue, between Bath Road and Hotham Road.

Motorists travelling in this area at this time should exercise caution, allow extra travel time, and follow directions of Police and authorised traffic controllers.

As part of Anzac Day Commemorations in the Sutherland Shire, the Miranda RSL sub-branch event will be held at the Miranda War Memorial in Seymour Shaw Park from 5.15am until 7am on Friday 25 April.

The Event consists of a March, which forms up in Wandella Road north of Kingsway at 5.15am, and proceeds along Wandella Road, then Parkside Avenue, then Central Road, followed by a Dawn Service at the War Memorial in Seymour Shaw Park at 5.40am. The Event concludes at 7am.

Ensuring a vehicle free area for the Dawn Service requires the temporary closure of Central Road north of Parkside Avenue and the Council car park adjacent the Miranda Magpies clubhouse from 6pm the night before. Drivers are requested to find alternate overnight parking so these areas are available for attendees of the Dawn Service.

Traffic control will be undertaken by NSW Police.

Traffic control for the March requires the temporary closure of:

  • Wandella Road, between Kingsway and Parkside Avenue;
  • Parkside Avenue, between Wandella Road and Willock Avenue;
  • Central Road, between Kingsway and Parkside Avenue; and
  • Penprase Lane between Central Road and Wandella Road.

Traffic control for the Dawn Service requires the temporary closure of:

  • Central Road, between Seymour Shaw Park and Parkside Avenue; and
  • Parkside Avenue, between Wandella Road and Willock Avenue.

Traffic control at the conclusion of the Dawn service may require the closure of Central Road at Parkside Avenue and Willock Avenue, to allow for the dispersal of the crowd.

Traffic is expected to be heavier than usual as participants travel to attend the event. Motorists should allow extra travel time and be aware of increased parking and pedestrian activity in the vicinity of the War Memorial Park.

Traffic control during the Dawn Service requires only the closure of Eton Street between Old Princes Highway and Flora Street.
